    Thanks for this, Doug! Very interesting, some of the choices you made there. Too bad there’s only a hint of what’s going on in your layers palette. I especially love the loose “scribble” shading done in mid-tone gray, then pushed to black at the end. Seems like it would make spotting the blacks less “risky” while you’re doing it, but no one knows the difference when you’re done. Very clever! Thanks again…

    The shading was always done in black, but on a separate layer with the opacity set at fifty percent. This allows me to see my primary ink line underneath and encourages me to bold with my blacks. When I’m finished I change the opacity back to one hundred percent. Other than that, they’re is nothing tricky going on with my layer palette.

    it seems so simple in fast motion. I am still trying to grab the reins on PS7.0 and i am nowhere near that good. I want to publish my work online soon. But for now its all hand drawn and inked. I wish I had your talent.
